Sugar season at la Cabane À Pierre
Experience an authentic sugar shack!
Offered in March and April
Whether during the week or on weekends, the Cabane à Pierre allows you to fully experience the true Quebecois tradition. The maple sap is collected according to the old-fashioned method: the spile (sap spout) and the bucket. Afterward, the sap is processed into syrup with the use of the traditional evaporator, fuelled by a wood fire.
Sugar season at la Cabane à Pierre, includes...
- An afternoon sleigh ride behind a tractor;
- A real sugar party with all-you-can-eat table service: hearty pea soup, crusty country bread, local sugar ham home-baked, pork and beans, cook’s omelette soufflé, farm sausages, oreilles de crisse, boiled potatoes, Beauce tourtière, fruit ketchup and homemade pickles. For dessert: crepes with maple syrup, tea, coffee and spring water;
- Gédéo Brevet, our popular children's host is present on weekends;
- Musical Entertainment played by our singer-musicians. Enjoy singing and dancing with your family and friends;
- Possibility of snowshoeing in the forest (equipment lent free of charge);
- Maple taffy treats on snow.
